Position Summary
Torramics is seeking a full time Senior Process Development Engineer to be part of our process development team and be responsible for a series of unit processes of our nanoCompressor device. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of wafer level processing techniques, equipment and manufacturing flows by which advanced and innovative MEMS devices are built. They will also have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with other engineers and scientists within the company and within our network of execution partners.
The Senior Process Development Engineer will be responsible for overseeing unit process flow development throughout its engineering lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring that the process meets high-quality standards and the required unit economics. This position reports to the Lead Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Develop unit processes to demonstrate proof of concept and transferability
- Ensure unit processes are well documented and characterized
- Understand unit processes components of variability
- Is a strong team player in the process development team and company
- Solving foundry transfer problems
- Work across time zones if necessary and can travel internationally
Qualifications
- Master’s in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other related engineering field. PhD is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in MEMS or CMOS fabrication
- Qualified unit processes in foundries or captive fabs
- General knowledge and familiarity with MEMS processes that range from lithography, deposition methods (PECVD, LPCVD, sputtering, evaporation), wet processes (solvent, acid processes, lift off processes), plasma dry etching (ICP, DRIE, Bosch), release methods (vapor HF), backside methods (CMP, dicing).
- Great written and verbal communication skills
